SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small-molecule pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, and ERRγ), a family of orphan nuclear receptors that help regulate mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative metabolism. First described by researchers at Saint Louis University, it is studied in metabolic research as an “exercise mimetic” for its proposed ability to activate oxidative-metabolism gene programs and increase energy expenditure and fatty-acid oxidation. In rodent models it has been investigated for effects on running endurance, whole-body energy metabolism, and resistance to diet-induced obesity, largely independent of changes in food intake. It is an investigational compound with no approved therapeutic indication.
